i have a completely wiped laptop (Sony Vaio PCG-Z1VA) and today i tried to install Windows 7 on it (the demo or w/e). So i have to hit “custom” install because i don’t have xp on it (its wiped). when i do that, it asks me where i want to install windows, and there’s nothing in the box. on the bottom it says “no drives were found. click load driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation.” when i click load driver, it says “to install the device driver need to access your hard drive, insert the installation media containing the driver files, then click OK.” then it says, “Note: the installation media can be a floppy disc, CD,DVD, or usb flash drive.”

what does that mean? what would i have to do to get this working, its driving me insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best answer:

Answer by shnoutface
as far as i know the only way to do this is download the specific device drivers and codes off the internet, you will need to burn to a cd then run that on your wiped computer ( i assume by wiped u mean all gone except the basic of basic stuff)
or you can take it into a sony store and they wil do t for you (at a charge ofc lol) or ring them up which shoul have the number you will need as a vaio manual should have it

Question by Jaap: My mac hard drive has crashed. What can i do with my iPod?
My hard drive has crashed. Since my iTunes library was kept in that drive, that too has vanished. However, I do have my iPod Touch where (practically) all my music was in. How can I get that music (and my purchases, games + songs) back into a new iTunes library?

So: I would like everything that’s on my iPod back into my mac.
Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Mirt F
I would assume that if you can log into your existing account, which is paired with our ipod, you will be able to get all the files from your ipod into itunes.

I knocked my western digital external hard drive off the table, about 2 1/2 feet off the ground, onto a carpet floor. When I plug it it it makes noise, a clicking and spinning, but I can’t access the files.

Any tips to get it so I can pull the files off?

Best answer:

Answer by Tyler G
You can probably send it in to WD and they could take out the actual disk and work some techy magic on it and take your files of for you, or bring it in to your local computer shop, they would probably know what to do. As for the actual drive itseflg you’ll have to get a new one probably.

Question by Mrs A: I dropped my Hard drive and can’t get it to work, Help!?
I have a Seagate Free Agent 1.5 terabyte hard drive. I accidentally knocked it off the table and it fell about 3 feet to the floor. I picked it up gently and placed it face up slowly making sure to listen for any loose parts. No loose shaking parts thankfully! But when I plugged it in there is a soft beeping/buzzing/clicking noise… all of that combined yes. And the lights are flashing sporadically then tells me “windows needs to install driver software for your Unknown device.” windows has already installed the drivers on my computer before I dropped it. I click locate and install driver software and it says “windows couldn’t find driver software for your device” I go to check for solution and nothing. What do I do? All my pictures and music are on there and that is the only place I have them on. What do I do?

Answer by Jason R
I am sorry. Never ever drop a hard drive coz they are fragile. Hmmm send for a servicing there nothing much you can do. Is there a warranty?
